1 Corinthians 11:11,12
11However, in the Lord, neither is woman independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12For as the woman originates from the man, so also the man has his birth through the woman; and all things originate from God.
Here Paul does not want what he has said to be used as a means to demean women, for that is not God’s design. Women are vital and just as important as men in both dignity and purpose. Yes, in creation God did create woman out man, but also women give birth to mankind and in that since man comes from women. This does not negate God’s design in creation when He made man first and then woman out man, but at the same time, God’s creating man first does not negate the honor due a woman. All things originate from God. The authority given to man is not for abuse, but instead a stewardship to uphold the beauty of a woman and the strength given to a woman is for upholding manhood in men. Any man who would use these verses or others to oppress women or reduce their dignity is in contention with God. In fact, if we do not honor women God will not hear our prayers.
10Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
Because this being the glory of man is womanhood and because it is good; women ought to have a symbol of authority on their head.
